Karlee asked me to do a shoot with her family; Husband, Martin and Dog, Pebbles. I worked with Karlee at a daycare for a year and I`m not exaggerating when I say that she is the full package. Brains, sense of humour and natural beauty. Karlee is a blast and I`m glad to count her as a friend. I was very excited to finally meet her lucky husband for the shoot. I have to admit being a bit nervous about Pebbles, who is known to not love strangers, but she happened to be very friendly and cooperative that day. And only second in complete and utter adorable-ness to my own dog! Photographing dogs is not all that different from children. You have to go with the flow and be able to feel when they are getting overwhelmed and tired.
It`s getting to be fall so quickly, so if you`d like to do a family shoot for a Christmas card, please contact me because I`m booking up quickly!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sometimes we really need to spend a day with a child to remember how to live in the moment. Children around Caitie’s age are certainly not without their challenges to photograph. Tantrums are frequent and attention spans are short. I find posed photos for small children are extremely difficult, so I chose to do a more candid shoot. I really just followed Caitie around and let her run the show. This was challenging for me as I usually have a list of photos I want to take planned out. Throw your plans out the window when you work with toddlers and go with the flow. I asked mom, Lenore, to bring things to entertain her, and I brought bubbles and sidewalk chalk. This was Caitie’s first time in the sand, so we had a hard time getting her out of the sandbox for other activities, but all in all, we got some cute shots and had a fun morning in the park.
Thanks for stopping by my website. Stay tuned for more summer-y stuff in the next few weeks.

You may remember Jocelyn’s maternity shoot from back in the summer. Little Logan arrived safely and on schedule and has completed this glowing family. Logan’s big sister is doing a great job as well.
This shoot was interesting because big sister Kaytie was in no mood to be photographed that day. No matter what I(or her parents) said, she was not going to do what we asked. I had to exercise patience and problem solving and tried to catch her in some candid moments. We took her to the park and I tried to sneak around to get some shots of just her, so that everything wasn’t “just about the baby.” Sometimes, as we photographers know, the situation isn’t ideal and we have to work with what we’ve got; bad weather, crowded location, grumpy toddler. In some ways, this “real life” is what makes photography genuine for me. Real life includes rainy days and grumpy kids, and that’s part of the journey.
Enjoy the photos and if you really like my work, stop by my Facebook page and like it for real!

Even though my recent photos might suggest I shoot nothing but maternity, I love to photograph almost anything. These photos are sadly almost a year old already, but I’ve been thinking about getting them up. I’ve gained a few more pieces of equipment since then, and looking back at them, I think I have gotten better in my photography in this last year, but for me personally, photography is about documenting an occasion. Whether you’re an expert or not, it’s always great to look back at the good times. That’s why I chose Eterno Dia as my name. It means Eternal Day. That it what photography captures. And when I look back at these photos of my mom’s surprise 60th birthday party, that day is eternal for me. And as a final bragging point, I made the cookies and cupcakes! All around talent.

I have known Jocelyn for 25 years. That kind of blows my mind. A quarter of a century. Jocelyn and I don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, but when we do, we always pick up right where we left off.
Jocelyn overcame a very tragic health crisis a few years back and it is truly inspiring for me to see how far she has come and what a beautiful family she has. They are expecting to complete their family with the arrival of Logan Randal in August. Jocelyn told me after receiving the photos from this shoot that the only thing she wished she could change would be that I would have been a photographer during her first pregnancy.
Please have a browse through the photos. Leave any comments or questions and feel free to contact me to book a session.
