Fall into Family

You may remember Jocelyn’s maternity shoot from back in the summer. Little Logan arrived safely and on schedule and has completed this glowing family. Logan’s big sister is doing a great job as well.

This shoot was interesting because big sister Kaytie was in no mood to be photographed that day. No matter what I(or her parents) said, she was not going to do what we asked. I had to exercise patience and problem solving and tried to catch her in some candid moments. We took her to the park and I tried to sneak around to get some shots of just her, so that everything wasn’t “just about the baby.” Sometimes, as we photographers know, the situation isn’t ideal and we have to work with what we’ve got; bad weather, crowded location, grumpy toddler. In some ways, this “real life” is what makes photography genuine for me. Real life includes rainy days and grumpy kids, and that’s part of the journey.

Enjoy the photos and if you really like my work, stop by my Facebook page and like it for real!

And Baby Makes 3.5

I have known Jocelyn for 25 years. That kind of blows my mind. A quarter of a century. Jocelyn and I don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, but when we do, we always pick up right where we left off.

Jocelyn overcame a very tragic health crisis a few years back and it is truly inspiring for me to see how far she has come and what a beautiful family she has. They are expecting to complete their family with the arrival of Logan Randal in August. Jocelyn told me after receiving the photos from this shoot that the only thing she wished she could change would be that I would have been a photographer during her first pregnancy.

Smiles As Sweet as Spring

You remember the Gray family. Well, I recently did an outdoor shoot for them with little Logan, who is not so little anymore! He is sitting up and will be reading, writing and catching baseballs all too soon. Logan’s dad was sick during his newborn shoot, so I’m pleased we’ve finally got some pictures of them together. Here are a few of their photos.

Stay tuned for even more maternity photos and some vacation photos from my trip to the Rockies. Feel free to check out my contact page where I’ve posted my rates. Also feel free to sign up for email subscription on my website so you’ll be updated when I make a new post.

Ready To Be a Big Sister

My cousin Nicole asked me to do maternity photos for her second baby. The shoot was fun and easy. Reese was a natural in front of the camera and I hardly had to pose her. Reese is now almost five and is very excited to be a big sister. At the time of the photos we did not know that the bundle inside this belly would turn out to be Reese’s sister Nathalie Ann! Congratulations to Nicole, Allan and Reese on a very special and long anticipated addition to their family.
